Michaud Campaign Rally with President Clinton Reaches Capacity in Less Than Three Hours

PORTLAND - Just three hours after announcing that President Bill Clinton will campaign with U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud next Tuesday, the free rally reached capacity with more than 750 online RSVPs for general admission.
“I’m extremely honored and excited that President Clinton is coming to Maine to lend his support to my campaign," Michaud said. “I’ve always admired President Clinton for his ability to work across the aisle to get things done, which is something we’ve been missing here in Maine under Gov. LePage. Based on the reaction our invitation has received, it's clear voters in Maine are extremely excited about this race and ready for a change."
The rally will be held on Tuesday evening, Sept. 2 in Portland. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
“Mainers are ready for a new governor, and they are excited about the opportunity to see President Clinton and Mike campaigning together,” said Matt McTighe, campaign manager for Michaud for Maine. “This is a huge event for Maine that will help to fire up supporters and get them ready for the final two months of the campaign.”
The campaign will collect a waiting list for tickets in the event of cancellations, but space is limited and there is no guarantee of admission.
